What is this?
animate(properties, duration, easing, complete) tweens numeric CSS properties over time. It cannot animate colors without plugins — use CSS or a class for color.
Why should you care?
Occasional QueryVerse progress cues (width bars) still use animate when CSS is awkward in legacy skins.

Examples include the jQuery 3.7 CDN. Paste into an HTML file or use Run Example to preview.

What happened?
- Only animate properties with numeric values (width, height, margin, opacity).
- Prefer CSS transitions for GPU-friendly effects.
- Always stop() before restarting.
Practice next
- Run the animation and watch the callback reverse.
- Try opacity: 0.3 in the props object.
- Change duration to 1000.
- Use queue:false for parallel animations.
- Animate scrollTop on html, body for old smooth-scroll.
Remember
animate tweens numbers. Callbacks run when done. CSS often supersedes animate.
Upload progress bar
A DigiLocker-like QueryVerse document upload fakes a smooth width bar while the API finishes.
Outcome: animate width gives clear progress without a charting library.
