What is this?
mouseenter runs when the pointer enters an element; mouseleave when it leaves. Unlike mouseover/mouseout, they do not bubble through children the same way — better for hover chrome.
Why should you care?
QueryVerse sidebars reveal action icons on row hover without flicker from child nodes.

What happened?
- For CSS-only hover, prefer :hover.
- Use mouseenter/leave when JS must run.
- hover(fnIn, fnOut) is shorthand but .on is clearer in teams.
Practice next
- Move the pointer in and out of the row.
- Hover the Message button — leave should not flicker wrongly.
- Replace with .hover(inFn, outFn).
- Toggle .css("background") on enter/leave.
- Bind focusin/focusout for keyboard users.
Remember
mouseenter/leave suit hover UI. Less child noise than over/out. Offer keyboard paths too.
CRM row actions
A HubSpot-like sales QueryVerse list in Gurgaon shows Message only while the pointer is on the row.
Outcome: mouseenter/leave reveal actions without child flicker.
