Toast Message Pattern

Perf & Integrate · 3 — Harden · ~10 min · App Integration

What is this?

Toasts are short, timed messages in a fixed region. Enqueue messages, fade them, and remove nodes after hide. Prefer text content.

Why should you care?

QueryVerse CRUD pages need non-blocking success/error feedback after AJAX.

What happened?

  • Limit stack height.
  • pause on hover for longer reads when polishing.
  • Expose a global qvToast used by AJAX helpers.

Practice next

  1. Fire success and error toasts.
  2. Spam-click and watch stacking.
  3. Change delay length.
  4. Add an action button inside a toast.
  5. Queue with a max of 3 visible.

Remember

Fixed toast host. fade + remove. text only.

CRUD feedback

A Darwinbox HR QueryVerse employee edit shows Saved/Failed without blocking the form.

Outcome: Toasts fade away and clean themselves up.
