jQuery vs Vanilla Today

What is this?
Modern browsers ship querySelector, fetch, classList, and closest — covering much of classic jQuery. Vanilla wins on bundle size; jQuery still wins on terse chaining and old IE-era habits in legacy estates.
Why should you care?
QueryVerse engineers should read both so they can translate snippets either way.

What happened?
- Translate selectors, events, and AJAX deliberately.
- Do not mix styles randomly in one file.
- Prefer one approach per module during migration.
Practice next
- Click both buttons.
- Rewrite a $.get to fetch().then.
- Rewrite .closest in vanilla.
- Use element.matches for filters.
- Replace $.each with forEach.
Remember
Vanilla covers many cases now. jQuery stays terse on legacy pages. Pick per module.
Side-by-side rewrite
A Zoho Recruit QueryVerse trainee converts a click handler to vanilla for learning.
Outcome: Both paths are clear; the team can choose consciously.
