What is this?

stop(clearQueue, jumpToEnd) halts the current animation; finish() jumps to the end state and clears the queue. Spam-clicking toggles without stop creates animation backlog.

Why should you care?

QueryVerse menus feel broken when hover animations queue behind each other — stop fixes that.

What happened?

  • stop(true, true) clears the queue and jumps to end of the current step.
  • finish() completes all queued animations’ final states.
  • Default stop() only pauses the current tween.

Practice next

  1. Pulse then spam Pulse again — feel the queue.
  2. Pulse then stop mid-way.
  3. Pulse then finish and note the end state.
  4. Pattern: .stop(true,true).fadeIn(150).
  5. Compare jumpToEnd true vs false visually.

Remember

stop controls in-flight motion. finish jumps to end. Clear queues on interactive UI.

Mega-menu hover

An Ajio partner QueryVerse catalog menu queues fades as merchants wave the pointer.

Outcome: stop(true, true) keeps the menu responsive.
